Abstract
Objective: To report the implementation of the Farmácia Cuidar + financing program to promote pharmaceutical services in Special Medicines Pharmacies (FME) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and present the preliminary results regarding the Pharmaceutical Care Axis. Methodology: Documentary analysis of official documents and administrative documents related to the implementation of the Program was carried out. Case description: The program was established in 2021 and aimed at municipalities that agreed to implement clinical services provided by pharmacists in the FME of the Unified Health System (SUS). As an incentive for joining the Program, financial resources were made available for the physical structuring of public pharmacies. Results: Most municipalities in the state (89.7%) adhered to the financing program. Ten months after the start of the program, 42% of the municipalities used the Axis Pharmaceutical Care, in whole or in part, to purchase furniture for the structuring of a pharmaceutical office or service space, and equipment for performing clinical services. As for clinical services, 5,955 consultations were performed until August 2022. The pharmaceutical guidance service was provided to 4,419 individuals, 1,408 users were treated with the first dispensation service and 128 received the pharmacotherapeutic follow-up service. Conclusions: The wide adhesion of the municipalities indicates that there is room for financing programs linked to the availability of services in Pharmaceutical Assistance. The use of the resource in a heterogeneous way indicates the need for studies to understand the factors that influence the implementation of programs aimed at municipal pharmacies, which allow the state manager to understand the subject so that the implementation occurs in a comprehensive way.
