Abstract
It describes the first stage of an Evaluability Assessment on HUPES Complex’s Manual for Dilution of Injectable Drugs, carried out to identify and characterize the manual objectives, analyze relations between its objectives, actions and results, through the construction and validation of its Theoretical-Logical Model (MTL). A qualitative methodology study was carried out between February and April 2020 at the HUPES Complex, consisting of two phases: Document Analysis (preliminary MTL) and validation (final MTL). Twenty-one stakeholders were included as two pharmacists as well who elaborated the dilution manual and 19 professional users who attend adult and pediatric care units – Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing (Nurses and Nursing Technicians). A categorization system was built based on the corpus of interviews, using Excel® (Microsoft Office 2007 Package) to manage the data. Based on Document Analysis and semi-structured interviews, the MTL of the manual was obtained and validated. Majority of participants were female professionals with experience in the HUPES Complex for up to five years. Professional agreement analysis for dilution manual objectives, actions and results resulted in the validated representation of the Theoretical-Logical Model of the HUPES Complex manual for dilution of injectable drugs.
